Duxford Aerodrome, otherwise known as IWM Duxford, is located just a mile west of Duxford village in Cambridgeshire. It is owned by the Imperial War Museum and many of the buildings were actually built by German prisoners of war during the First World War. Duxford was also used as one of the locations when shooting the film Battle of Britain in 1968, and it was also used for scenes in the 1989 film Memphis Belle. The site is also sometimes used by Formula One teams for testing.

As an exhibition venue, Duxford Aerodrome is truly unique. Steeped in history, it houses over 100 aircraft and is also the home of the American Air Museum. During the Second World War it was a Battle of Britain fighter station but has now been transformed into an outstanding and impressive events space.

No matter the size of your event, Duxford Aerodrome can provide an enchanting and inspiring space, with the capability to house a meeting for 10, a conference for 1000 and anything in between.

As well as historic buildings, there are several outdoor spaces which can also be used for events.

IWM Duxford has a purpose-built conference centre within the award winning AirSpace exhibition hangar, and this is perfect for conferences and meetings. With eight individual rooms, it can cater for groups ranging from 5 to 100 people. It also features the Marshall Auditorium, a lecture theatre with tiered seating which can seat up to 200 delegates.

The largest events area at IWM Duxford is the Conservation Hall, a versatile space which can comfortably accommodate up to 800 delegates. This space is a real blank canvas which can be used to suit the organisers’ and exhibitors’ requirements. There is also ample free parking for organisers and delegates, and complimentary access to the museum can be incorporated into events packages.

This 300-acre site combines the historic airfield and runway with modern visitor facilities, grassy areas and stunning scenery.
